Saturday, October 24, 2009: California Capitol March
Sacramento, California
Boy Scout Capital March in Sacramento CA Boy Scout Capital March in Sacramento CA Boy Scout Capital March in Sacramento CA
I attended the anniversary event at Raley Field. I displayed my building Kit along with structures and catapults that could be built. There was over 7,000 scouts, leaders and parents at the event. I received great reviews from all who came by including a one on one discussion of my idea with Mr. Robert Mazzuca Chief Executive Officer of Boy Scouts of America. Thanks for your support. Scout Leadership Training
North Seattle Community College, Seattle, WA
I attended the event as a vender where over 700 Scouts leaders attended. The positive reaction from the leaders gave me the much needed encouragement to proceed. I was able to meet the quest speaker Mr. Wayne Brock, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Boy Scouts of America. We talked at my booth about my idea of a National Boy Scout Engineering and Pioneering Competition much like the Pinewood Derby Car races for Cub Scouts. (See Competition goals.) He said he would pass the idea onto the Boy Scout Innovation Engine Team. The team considers new ideas and posts them to their web site www.innovationengine.com so employees of Scouting can make comments about the idea. However, anyone can read the ideas and comments by scout employees. If you are an employee of scouting, please look me up and make comment. Thanks and good day.

Scout Day at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA
I was invited to attend Scout Day at the Zoo. I had my booth set up with my Kit, structures and a table where the scouts could build structures. I also had two catapults set up for the scouts to throw pennies at a backdrop target. Positive responses where given by the many parents and leaders who came by.

August 20-23, 2009: Wash Jam 2009 (The Washington State Jamboree)
Fort Lewis near Tacoma, Washington
I attended Wash Jam as a vendor setting up a booth with examples of bridges and other structures built from "The Kit." Attendees were provided with supplies and the chance to build their own projects. Fun and imagination were in abundant supply!
Scout dads also like to build tree houses. Even a tree house can teach engineering skills. Scouts show off tree house they built. Scout shows off trivet he built.
